I have started a blog just for the GFCF recipes that we have tried and loved. It can be found at My GFCF Recipe Blog. Not an original title, I know, but I couldn’t think of another to save my life. I’m open to suggestions. LOL!
Love one another!

We had to say good-bye to our old friend Zoey today. Zoey was our beloved Lab, she would have been 13 on Valentine’s day. We have had her since our daughter was 3 years old, she can’t even remember a time without Zoey in our family.

This picture of Zoey was taken in October, on her way to the vet’s office. October was when she started going downhill, but it’s only in the past few weeks that she really took a turn for the worse. She loved going in the car, and even to the vet’s office!
My sweet Hubby took her to the vet today, in the car (her favorite) to have her put to sleep. He got the toughest job. I just stayed home and sat on the couch with Christine, all snuggled up, while cried together. Joshua was down for his nap during most of it, but he was up for the beginning of it. Christine crying, and Joshua laughing.
Joshua laughs hysterically when someone is sobbing. I don’t know what it is about it that he finds so humorous, but he laughs his booty off. It’s mainly a good thing though. It’s tough to be sad with Josh there laughing and so happy. During one of her sobbing spells today, Christine said “I wish I was like Joshua!”. He is our boy who is always happy! He does, of course, get hurt and cry, and he worries when mama leaves him with someone, but he’s oblivious to to stuff like the dog dying. He’s oblivious at this stage in his life, I don’t know if he’ll remain that way or not as he grows.
She was such a sweet girl, we’ll miss our Zoey!
Love one another,

I am leaving my blog, for a very long while, maybe forever…I will still be helping Joshua out with his blog: Pooh Bear’s Adventure’s, but the time of the personal blog is over for me. Life is just too busy, good busy, crazy busy, but busy.
I have enjoyed meeting many new friends in the bloggy world, and appreciate all the prayers and support that you have all given me over the last two+ years. I am going to be cutting back on all blog reading also, but I will definitely drop in and say hello now and then!
Keep on loving one another!~Yvonne
I’ll be trying my best to keep us with these precious “babies” of mine! :-)

Here are some pictures…notice the second picture; Joshua has taken Happy’s puppy teething keys and Happy is watching him chew on them. Anytime the puppy leaves those keys alone for a second Joshua jumps on the opportunity to chew on them himself. Happy thinks Joshua is a litter mate at this point. I wonder why? :-) We are really trying to break the puppy from licking Joshua’s face though, Josh is none too crazy about it!

Because everyone is now being urged left and right to buy “green” CFL bulbs I wanted to link to this article: CFL Bulbs Have One Hitch: Toxic Mercury that I think everyone should read.
My sister first told me about the bulbs having mercury in them at dinner last night. She has a friend who put one in her daughter’s room, it broke, and she heard about the mercury and called a government agency to find out what to do…her daughter’s room has had to be sealed off from the rest of the house and it is going to cost them $2,000 to have the room properly treated to get rid of the mercury!
We have put one of these bulbs in the fixture on our front porch, but no other’s so far. I have to say, I don’t think I’ll be installing any others, even though I’d like to save the planet as much as the next mom, that is until I get some more information that convinces me otherwise.

I just came up with this recipe tonight, after rummaging around the fridge, hoping to find something to throw together dinner, out of things we already had lying around. It has butter…so not fat-free or anything! :-)
3 zucchini’s cut into wedges
2 cups green beans
1 can of tuna packed in spring water
2 tsp. fresh basil (chopped)
juice from half of small lemon
1/4 cup of butter
salt to taste
1/4 cup of whatever cheese you have on hand
Saute’ it all (except the cheese) up in a pan until the zucchini and green beans are almost tender. Then I transferred it over to a corning ware dish and sprinkled the cheese on top and baked it at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. If you don’t like tuna, it would be awesome with chicken, and grilled chicken would be even better! I just didn’t happen to have any chicken. I think I need to go grocery shopping!
It only fed the four of us, so you’ll need to double it if you have a larger family! We thought it was very yummy, and Hubby even wished there was more!
